BKT Kosova proudly announces its official status as a signatory of the United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), a commitment signed by CEO and Board member at BKT Kosova Mr. Suat Bakkal. This initiative underscores the Bank’s dedication to advancing gender equality and empowering women across all levels of the organization.
In his statement regarding the WEPs, Mr. Suat Bakkal emphasized, “At BKT Kosova, we are deeply committed to promoting gender equality. It is essential that women own equal rights and are empowered to reach their full potential without facing any discrimination. This commitment is crucial for fostering a sustainable, just, and prosperous society. Signing the WEPs represents another vital step in our ongoing mission to advance gender equality and inclusion.”
BKT Kosovo is committed to implementing the seven principles outlined in the WEPs to create an inclusive environment where women have equal opportunities for development. The Bank will promote equal opportunities without gender differences, inclusiveness and non-discrimination, security, education and training tailored to each and transparency.
The WEPs are a vital tool for corporations to contribute to the gender equality dimensions of the 2030 Agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. By joining the WEPs community, BKT Kosova is making a clear commitment to collaborate with stakeholders to empower women and drive meaningful change.
We are grateful for CSR Kosova’s important role in facilitating this initiative and providing invaluable support throughout the process. Their dedication to promoting gender equality in the private sector is commendable. We also appreciate their efforts in organizing the signing ceremony for the Women’s Empowerment Principles, which brought together leading CEOs to collectively demonstrate their commitment to advancing gender equality in Kosovo.
We call on all businesses to adopt these principles as a roadmap to empower women in the workplace, marketplace, and community, ensuring mutual benefit for our organizations and society as a whole.
