A CFD or margin contract is a contract that increases or decreases in value depending on whether the shares on which the contract is based increase or decrease in value. Under the Contract for Difference (e.g., if the CFD is based on XYZ shares), the client is not the owner of the shares of the company (example company “XYZ”), but benefits from the movement of the share price of this company.
